Jim Stearns joined RHK Capital as a Senior Managing Director in September of 2017. From 1996 to 2017 he was the Managing Director & partner in charge of the the Roth Capital Partners Seattle office. In that capacity he focused on regional coverage, tech companies and most recently industrials. Mr. Stearns has extensive experience in Merger & Acquisition advisory transactions, private placements, public offerings and assisting management and boards of directors in assessing corporate strategic alternatives. From 1981 to 1994 he served in the investment banking department of Dain Bosworth (now RBC Capital Markets) first at its Minneapolis headquarters and later as head of its Seattle, Pacific Northwest and Technology Group investment banking practices. From 1978 until 1981 Mr. Stearns was an associate at Frontenac Company, then the largest private venture capital firm in Chicago. From 1975-1978 he served as a commercial banking officer in the transportation group of the Harris bank where he was responsible for relationships with both middle market and large transportation companies nationally. Mr. Stearns has a B.A. degree in economics from Tufts College and MBA, Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Currently holding his series 7, 24 & 63 licenses.
